“Ionic Liquid-based Electrolytes for Next Generation Batteries”
Stefano Passerini is currently Professor in the Institute of Physical Chemistry at the University of Münster (Germany). He graduated at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” under the supervision of Professor Bruno Scrosati in 1993. Since then, he has acquired a wide international experience in the lithium battery field working as senior scientist in the USA (University of Minnesota), Italy (ENEA), Japan (Waseda University), Brazil (University of Sao Paulo) and Germany (University of Muenster). Since 1986 he has been working on the development of materials and systems for electrochemical energy storage. His research efforts are focused on the fundamental understanding and the development of materials for lithium batteries, such as ionic liquids, polymer electrolytes, and inorganic sol-gel materials. He is co-author of over 180 peer-reviewed publications, and 4 chapters in well renowned books including the “Handbook of Batteries (3rd Ed.)”.
